Information and training materials on the creation, protection and management of brand-related IP assets for SMEs in the ASEAN region

This activity is aimed at enhancing the knowledge about IP among small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the ASEAN region.

 

In order to achieve that aim, the project has focused on developing information and training materials on the protection, management and commercialization of brand-related IP assets (trade marks, industrial designs and geographical indications). These materials would be specifically addressed to ASEAN SMEs in order to provide for tools that strengthen their capacity to take advantage of IP rights for brand development and competitiveness.  The project will provide for the compilation and elaboration of such information and training materials which eventually would be made available on line.

 

In this context, the project has identified an external expert to work on the design of the structure of the information and training materials under the principle of user-friendliness and the development of content differentiated by country. The expert has been undertaking that work in 2014 and will continue to do so in 2015, when the information and training materials in English should become ready for dissemination on line, including through the ECAP website and the IP Portal.
