Introducing the Local Co-ordination Unit

The Local Co-ordination Unit (LCU) for the ECAP II programme has regional responsibilities. Operational since February 2002, the LCU is located at the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand.

LCU Manager

Niclas Morey became LCU Manager for ECAP II from mid-August 2004, succeeding Nam Ngo Thien who has moved on to Beijing to be representative of the French National Industrial Property Office in China.
Mr. Morey holds a master?s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden and a post-graduate degree in applied economics. Prior to his appointment, he spent four years as head of the EPO?s President?s Office. A familiar face in ASEAN, he has extensive experiences in international cooperation within EPO, including with ECAP I.

   
Marisa Saksopin

Marisa Saksopin
LCU Project Assistant

joined the LCU office in June 2002. She has several years of experience in the administration and logistical support for development projects such as the Asian Development Bank in Manila and the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation in Bangkok amongst others. She is responsible for the administrative and organisational aspects of running the LCU office as well as the organization of events such as seminars, workshops in ASEAN, in Thailand and other ASEAN Countries

   
Kamolrat Chotesungnoen

Kamolrat Chotesungnoen
Administrative Assistant

A Thai national, Miss Kamolrat graduated in English from Thammasat University in Bangkok. Before joining ECAP II in September 2004, she spent the last four years as academic officer at the Bangkok-based International Law Enforcement Academy, a regional organization that provides training in relations to trans-national crime for Asian law enforcement officers.

   
Supapohn Kanwerayotin

Supapohn Kanwerayotin

came on board as a public relations consultant in December 2002. Supapohn has worked as a reporter on South-East Asian affairs with the Bangkok Post newspaper, British Broadcasting Corporation, the Far Eastern Economic Review.
