Brand, Trade Marks, and Designs: Your Export Strategies

This event supports the Commerce Ministry's endeavour to promote Thai export, noted Deputy Commerce Minister Pongsak Ruktapongpisal in his opening remarks at the two-day forum attended by over 250 participants who are businesspeople, exporters, lawyers, as well as members of the EU-IPR Network in Thailand.
Among the prominent experts invited to share knowledge with local participants on how to enhance export through the use and protection of IP included OHIM Deputy Director Virginia Melgar; Patrice Vidon, President of the French Institute of Patent and Trademark Attorneys, and chairman of law firm Vidon&Partners; L'Oreal 's Chief Trade Mark Counsel Jose Monteiro.
?Attending the seminar is very useful to my company?s export business,? said participant Monchai Ropayanond, adding that learning about Europe?s Community Trade Mark system is to him the highlight of the event. Also hearing about the benefits of Europe-wide protection offered by CTM for the first time, another participant Kritpeth Sitawan said input from the seminar will help him work out better solutions on how to protect trade marks and brands.
